Affiliates: Unconventional Guides: A revenue-sharing plan that actually works.

Our affiliate program is by application only. Why? Because most affiliate programs suck. Either the merchant doesn’t pay much money to the merchant (Amazon pays 4%), or the affiliates don’t do much promoting. If you’ve heard of the 80/20 rule, with affiliate marketing it’s more like the 98/2 rule — in many cases, 98% of affiliates don’t sell anything for the merchant.

We’ve fixed our part of the bargain - you’ll get a full 51% commission on every sale you make. Your end is to write in to let us know how you plan to actively market the guides—your web site, your email list, or something else.

It’s pretty simple, but we want to know you will take it seriously. In turn, we’ll take your partnership seriously and help you any way we can with the marketing.

As mentioned, we pay 51% commission on every sale you make with no minimum. We pay out on the first of the month via PayPal, direct to your own PayPal account which you can then immediately withdraw to your bank or spend online to your heart’s content. If you make more than $2,000 in any given month, we’ll pay out every other week, and you’ll get a 10% bonus on all sales above the $2,000 level.

You have to own at least one of the guides prior to getting started, you can’t cheat by buying products for yourself under the affiliate program, and you can’t annoy anyone else by spamming them about our products.

That’s pretty much it. Oh, and the logistics for this are independently managed through 1ShoppingCart, which will ensure that you always get credit for sales you produce.

Living Systems » Polymoss. Polymoss is a networked sculptural object by Joshua Clayton that senses and publishes air quality data. This iteration is a prototype for deployment in public space. The project is accompanied by a series of collaborative drawings that critically imagine the future of New York’s urban landscape. Polymoss grew out of my interest in public art and the politics of invisible environmental conditions.
